I’m excited to speak to Emelie Olsson, co-founder of Corite, dedicated to bridging the gap between music, fans and backers. Through Corite, Emelie and her cofounders are creating the Kickstarter for music talent. The platform allows artists to raise money for projects from fans who want to invest in music, earn rewards, and engage. Emelie is a self starter with a non linear career and life path who started working at the age of 14, because she had to provide for herself and siblings. She worked as a parking guard, at a kindergarten, working in call centres and recruitment, always striving to improve her places of work. She started building her own brand early through social media, a blog and podcast. She puts it down to luck and good timing meeting her current co-founders and believes deeply in having side hustles that earn you more money and enlarge your network. Emelie is a Forbes 30 under 30 honoree who oversees daily operations and manages communication and partnerships. She is an experienced project manager in digital communication, social media, podcasts, sales, and copywriting. Watch until the end to find out how Emelie built her career from the ground up and got to where she is now.
