We’re thrilled to speak to Jane Shepherdson CBE about sustainably consuming fashion. Many clothing retailers make cheap and fashionable clothing to satisfy the needs of consumers but it has a significant environmental impact. From being one of the biggest water consumers to its global carbon emissions, consumers often overlook these problems. With over 20 years of experience as brand director of Topshop and CEO of Whistles, Jane has a wealth of knowledge. She has made it her mission to help curb the environmental impact of the fashion industry. In 2019 she joined the rental and resale platform MY WARDROBE HQ, the UK’s first fashion rental marketplace and a leading destination for renting and buying contemporary and luxury womenswear fashion. Watch the full interview to find out why she left Topshop, what she thinks of the current fashion industry, the difference she hopes to make, and more.
