Community Health Visitor with safe guarding roles, trained nurse turned teacher, aspiring to write a book about her experiences.
Karen is an amazingly resilient community health visitor with many years under her belt visiting families and supporting them. She holds many safe guarding roles and works on various steering committees in the domestic abuse and mental health field and now teaches at Christ Church College in Canterbury. Karen so eloquently describes her journey from studying nursing to becoming a health visitor, to safe guarding roles and her role as a teacher.
Karen is planning to write a book about her stories and we cannot wait to read that. She is full of wisdom and finds the connections she made with the families she visited the most rewarding part of her job. “Nurses are problem solvers and find creative ways to get to the best solution for each individual”. Isn’t that a great quote? It gives me so much hope and appreciation for all the amazing nurses in the world, especially during the times we live in right now.
